July 30th---at it again--on the road

We left Glacier West this morning---a beautiful day---has been all day---we did not drive so many miles today--the last two moves 'bout got us---the 615 miles and the 432 miles were too much---today we only traveled 248--that is good traveling---we are in Newport, Washington---just over the line from Idaho--we are set for the night---then on the road agin for tomorrow.

No pictures this blog's day---we did not see anything of any difference that we wanted to put on blog for posterity--LOL--the scenery was beautiful but looked a lot like the scenery that we left behind us. I just love the streams that run along with the roads--they are just beautiful to me!

Yesterday our going thru the Glacier Park, I could not look down when we reached the top---I thought I had my self siked out to do so but just could not do it---Jack had to get out and take all the pictures from the top looking down.

Today we got great news about my nephew--he was moved from ICU to a room---5 days before schedule--has his trac out, breathing on his own, able to swallow, eat a little--like jello, etc.--he had to take a swallowing test---pasted it with flying colors--said he studied hard for that test--LOL LOL--good to know he still has his sense of humor and had a smile today for the first time---God is Good!

So, he is out of ICU, in a room, and is suppose to go a house kinda of like The Ronald mcDonald House in a week---be there for a month--then I don't know what--just thankful that he progress is going so GREAT!

Our day on the road to the sun

What a great day! it was a beautiful day! The ride thru National West Glacier Park was breath taking---the mountains and lakes were something for the text books! I took so many pictures---the snow was still on the ground as we went in the higher elevations---breath taking!

Such beautiful hanging flowers here and in MI---wish I could take them home with us!
My favorite views were the water ways that went along with roads we were on---they were beautiful following along with the road.
The snow capped maountains were gorgeous from the bottom and from the top!
This was snow beside the road.

6th day on the road

Cannot believe how far we traveled today----480 miles----we left Mackinac City, MI at 8:30 a.m. and boy, was it a cool morning---the day started off really good---the last two or 3 days have been really nice---glad to get past that "heat wave"---we had a great time, though, in Mackinac---

Tonight , we are residing in "high cotton"--we are among the "crew" that is parked for the night at The Wal-Mart" in Superior, Wiscon.--The SuperCenter, no less--there are about 8 of us---one that we saw from TX, two from Ontario, and did not see the others---there are motor homes---vans---over the top truck RVs---tag a longs and us---we are a motley crew---all going in different directions and coming from different directions---what a treat for all of us---it is FUN!

Got a call from my Sister this a.m. that her oldest son is having a double lung transplant today---talked to her tonight--it is to be tonight---please keep him in your prayers--

We are headed to Glacier National Park---will be there for 2 or 3 days--that is in Montana--want to drive thru the Road to the Sun---

Am going to call it a night---have a good one, you all--take care--God Bless

Our day at Mackinac Island

In a few words, we had a great day at Mackinac Island!  The ride over there was really nice and the day spent was great!  We had horse and buggy for our transportation while we were over there----there is no motorized "anything" there to use, borrow, rent or buy while you are there----it is either walk, bike ride or buggy ride---it was really neat!!

We took the tour and stopped at the Butterfly house----and BOY was that a treat!   Never saw so many butterflies in one place----in an enclosed building---controlled climate with the most beautiful flowers I have ever seen---and they had the same "butterfly flowers" there that I have---I was so "tickled".  A lady from Idaho said her plants like mine did not come back every year---she was jealous of me that mine did---said she would remember "the lady from GA. that had the same plants she had" would think of me when hers would or would not come back each year---LOL

All of the area here is like a picture----the buildings and the yards are beautiful!  I have never seen such beauty in flowers---ever---and just ordinary ones----their hanging plants are awesome---here and on the island---wish I could carry some home with me----guess they would dry up and die like I let my others do---but they are really pretty here.

The weather has really cooled off.  Our tour boat carried over to island by way of the Mackinac Bridge----we left on Lake Huron, under the bridge to Lake Michigan and back under the bridge to Lake Huron to the island.  The wind had died down from yesterday and water was calm today.  The ride there and back was really pleasant.

The only close calls we had were on the island---had to watch out for bikers----try to keep them from running over us and watch for buggies---all in all it was a great day!!  I will try later to see if I can put a picture or two on----have not tried that one yet---

Bye for now---until next time----

God Bless and love ya!

Our 5th day--Sunday

OK, this has been another good day---got unhooked from the "monster"---RV--rode around a lot and looked a lot---a beautiful place around here----Lake Huron is huge!!  The wind has blown a lot today and the water has really been choppy---the beaches have been deserted---no out---too cool---the ferrys have b een going steady carrying everyone out to the island and has been busy doing that---a lot of other boats out----sailing, boat riding, etc.

We got our tickets to go over for the day tormorrow.  We are just going to spend the day.  You would not believe the people going over with bikes, luggage and the like for more than a day----I think a day will suit us---we are looking forward to it.  We plan to move around by horse and buggy---hope that works out.  We will see.

I did a lot of looking around in the shops today.  They are really set up fot the tourists.  But it is really a neat seaside town.  Lots of shops to shop & restaurants to eat.  Lots of motels that look really neat.  The bridge that goes over the bay is beautiful!  The whole town is very much like a picture!!

We ate lunch at a restaurant called the Dixie Saloon---the food was really good---could be because I was starving----did not eat seafood---they did not specialize in it---I am saving up for that later---of course Jack will not eat any seafood---he is a red meat man!  Does not know what he is missing----YUMMM!

Well, I am outa here---sleep well all--sweet dreams---love to all

God Bless

Fourth day on the road

Another good day---we got off this a.m. early and left Coldwater for Jackson, MI and made it there 'bout the middle of the morning---and it was a rewarding visit---I got to meet her face to face for the first time today---we have been internet friends for 8-10 years---it was so good to finally get to meet her!  Also got to meet her son---he came in before we left.  It was nice to meet him also.  It was nice to talk over our e-mails, game playing in POGO and the friends we made there and catch up on our families.  Only one regret---I did not take any pictures of Nancy and I----don't know where my head was---just was not thinking----duh!

We arrived here in Mackinac City, MI today 'bout 4:00 p.m.--we are in a KOA RV Park that is really nice--we will check out the deals on going to the Island, hopefully Monday, if nothing happens.  We will be here thru Tuesday morning, when we will leave to go up and over to start our treck toward the west
to make it nearer our destination---ALASKA---can't believe it---will believe it when when we get there---looking forward to the treat of going thru Canada also.

Ready to get outside and breath fresh air that is not so hot----we went thru some rain on our ride today that was nice----cooled things off---it is nice outside now---beats the heat of late---

Everyone, take care---know that things here are going well---we are doing well---God is good!

Love ya!

Our third day on the road

Well, we made it---to MI, that is---we are in Coldwater, MI---and it is actually cooler and nice---it rained on us for a few miles before we stopped at ath RV park---Waffle Farm RV Park in Coldwater---really pretty--big, has a lake---family ment to be for---it was nice to get to sit outside for a change--

Saw a couple with a schnauzer like Miss Madi---made me really miss her more---but this dog was darker and had all his hair almost cut off---not as cute as Miss Madi but was really friendly--about the same age as Miss Madi--

People are fishing, boat riding, jet sking, boat sking and just boat riding----having a big time---nice place---shady lots and grassy---nice RV park.

Sent e-mail to my friend in Jackson, MI---just a few miles away---don't know whether we will get to meet or not---she is still confined from her breaking bones---she is still on walker and not driving---we may not be able to get the RV in and around to her area where she lives---we will try---I will at least get to talk to her---she is a really great internet, friend--

We got cable today for the first time since we left home---Jack is a happy camper---LOL--he fills connected back to the sports world again---

Enough of "gabb" for now---hope everyone is doing well---things here are just fine---God is Good!---He is looking after us---

God Bless you all
