Our day at Mackinac Island

In a few words, we had a great day at Mackinac Island!  The ride over there was really nice and the day spent was great!  We had horse and buggy for our transportation while we were over there----there is no motorized "anything" there to use, borrow, rent or buy while you are there----it is either walk, bike ride or buggy ride---it was really neat!!

We took the tour and stopped at the Butterfly house----and BOY was that a treat!   Never saw so many butterflies in one place----in an enclosed building---controlled climate with the most beautiful flowers I have ever seen---and they had the same "butterfly flowers" there that I have---I was so "tickled".  A lady from Idaho said her plants like mine did not come back every year---she was jealous of me that mine did---said she would remember "the lady from GA. that had the same plants she had" would think of me when hers would or would not come back each year---LOL

All of the area here is like a picture----the buildings and the yards are beautiful!  I have never seen such beauty in flowers---ever---and just ordinary ones----their hanging plants are awesome---here and on the island---wish I could carry some home with me----guess they would dry up and die like I let my others do---but they are really pretty here.

The weather has really cooled off.  Our tour boat carried over to island by way of the Mackinac Bridge----we left on Lake Huron, under the bridge to Lake Michigan and back under the bridge to Lake Huron to the island.  The wind had died down from yesterday and water was calm today.  The ride there and back was really pleasant.

The only close calls we had were on the island---had to watch out for bikers----try to keep them from running over us and watch for buggies---all in all it was a great day!!  I will try later to see if I can put a picture or two on----have not tried that one yet---

Bye for now---until next time----

God Bless and love ya!
Marilyn and Jack
