What a great day---or should I say a fun day--can't remember when we have been such "daresome old folks before"--what a step out of our box---but what fun we had---even Jack enjoyed it---I have been wanting to do white water
rafting for years and Jack did not want to---he is just not a water person---our neighbors next to us here at the park did it yesterday and had a great time---
They convinced Jack what a fun time it would be and he came in early this morning---before I got up and proposed the idea of us enquiring into the possibility of our going on the 8 mile trip of floating down the Snake River--we did and we did--it was an unusual feat for us but a fun one--there were about eleven or 12 of us with our guide---Jack was one of the ones helping to row us along---he did a good job---no one feel out---but we ALL got soaked--Jack got drench the first waves we met--had to buy him a strap to hold his glasses on---did not want for him to loose them--that ment I would have had to drive---that would have been disastrous--he has driven every mile of our trip---and that so far has been over 5000 miles---and we have loved every mile of it (although, I think he is getting homesick)--
On our river trip today, we saw several osprey nests, and several osprey birds---they were beautiful--and we saw one bald eagle---that was awesome--
had hope to see more wild life but that was it--and Kirstie, no snakes--our guide said they have no rattlesnakes here--that sounded good to me--
No one fell overboard---just all of us got really wet--had a great guide--told lots of interesting stories and facts--said he had been doing this for
years---even down in New Zealand once for 14 years--
Met some people that worked at the welcome center from Georgia that knew some people that we knew----that makes this a small world--met some people from Warner Robins--a young couple--they were on their way to Seattle---he was a graduate of UGA--
Have met several people that were UA fans and FL fans---just can't get away from them--LOL But Betty, we are going to keep you and Royce--we have been wearing our Georgia hats and shirts---which has caused us to get attention--imagine that--but we are proud fans---can't help it---GO DAWGS!
Going to try to get a pic or two on from today---could not carry our camera with us on the river---if I had, it would have been soaked, too--we went downtown to Jackson Hole and walked around---it is and looks like an old western town from long ago--here goes---This arch is made out of antlers---don't know what kind of antlers but there were chandeliers and Christmas Trees made out of them also--the things they had for sale were very pricey---like everything else--LOLThis is some of the copper art work---there was some for sale at the shops---up to 60,000 dollars a piece---any buyers? There were several of these human pieces---really unique---not for sale---on the benches that you could sit down on---they were all out on the side walks--OK, this was the place where we left for our rafting trip---and this hugh dog was there at their office---a big, ole teddy bear---so gentle--forgotten what they said his name was--
Ok, you good folks---this is it for tonight--took a while but here it is--had a great time--you ALL should try it somewhere--you are never too old---we are living proof of that---loved it--
Love you all--God Bless
Marilyn and Jack
